An incident involving an ICE agent reportedly led to a tragic outcome as a man was shot and killed in front of a group of protesting individuals, with claims that the agent callously remarked “boo hoo.” The victim, identified as ICU nurse Alex Jeffrey Pretti, 37, was allegedly restrained by federal agents before one of them fatally shot him multiple times in a disturbing incident. The shooting sparked mass protests in Minneapolis, with demonstrators expressing outrage over the harsh immigration enforcement measures and the tragic loss of Pretti’s life.

Following the shooting, an enraged crowd confronted federal officers, denouncing them as “cowards” and demanding their departure. In a disrespectful manner, one officer dismissively responded with the words “Boo hoo” as he walked away. Amid escalating tensions, protesters resorted to blocking streets with bins and chanting slogans against ICE, leading to confrontations where ICE agents used forceful measures such as flash bangs and batons.

Subsequently, a large gathering assembled at the scene of the shooting, displaying signs demanding justice for Alex Pretti and honoring other victims like Renee Good, who had also been fatally shot by an ICE agent previously. Border Patrol commander Grey Bovino asserted that Pretti had approached the agents with a handgun, leading to a physical altercation before the fatal shooting took place.

Videos from the scene captured the chaotic aftermath, showing distraught protesters and the perceived lack of assistance from ICE agents towards the victim. The Department of Homeland Security shared images of a gun allegedly belonging to Pretti, claiming he was armed with ammunition but had no identification. Despite official statements suggesting a potential threat from Pretti, his grieving family condemned the government’s portrayal of him, emphasizing his compassionate nature and refuting the accusations made against him.

As the community mourned the loss of Pretti and rallied for justice, the incident raised concerns about the use of force by law enforcement agencies and reignited debates on immigration policies and enforcement tactics.
