A woman who previously had a relationship with Prince Harry was recently apprehended in Majorca for allegedly departing a hotel without settling a bill of nearly £450.

Catherine Ommanney, a 53-year-old reality TV personality, was taken into custody yesterday on suspicion of fraud after a hotel manager reported the incident to the authorities. She is accused of vacating the three-star Playas del Rey Hotel in Santa Ponsa, near Magaluf, without paying a bill amounting to over €500 (£434) for a nine-day stay.

Law enforcement sources have verified the arrest. Catherine, who claims to have engaged in a romantic affair with Harry when he was 21 and she was 34, appeared before a judge in Palma, the capital of Majorca.

Following an ongoing investigation, she was released on bail. Reports from the island’s newspaper, Ultima Hora, suggest that Catherine, an interior designer and original cast member of the Real Housewives of DC, made a hotel reservation using a card that had insufficient funds.

Details regarding her court testimony or any explanations offered by her remain unclear. Catherine was observed leaving a courtroom cell escorted by a Civil Guard officer around 7 p.m. the previous day for a closed-door hearing.

Upon her release, she refrained from making any statements. The location of her arrest has not been disclosed. In November 2022, Catherine disclosed a two-month relationship she had with Harry in 2006, emphasizing his confidence and gentlemanly demeanor.

Describing Harry as ‘baby’ due to his fondness for lollipops, Catherine suggested that he valued her maturity and offered insights that differed from his usual interactions. Their brief affair reportedly ended after a few encounters, with a friendly reunion occurring in 2009 at a polo match.

A spokesperson for the Civil Guard confirmed the arrest of the 53-year-old British woman on suspicion of fraud, following a hotel representative’s report of non-payment of a hotel bill in Santa Ponsa. The bill in question was approximately 550 Euros (£475) for a stay at the Playas del Rey Hotel from January 2 to 11.

Catherine, an interior designer, appeared in court under a previous surname used due to a prior marriage. In response to the news of her arrest and court appearance, she dismissed the allegations as false, claiming the bill had been settled and vowing to seek justice for the misunderstanding.

The Playas del Rey Hotel receptionist declined to comment further, stating the manager was unavailable. Court officials have not yet addressed inquiries about the case’s status or conclusion of the investigation.
