Elon Musk made light-hearted remarks about Donald Trump’s recently launched Board of Peace during his appearance at the Davos summit today.

This marks a shift for Musk, who had previously criticized the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. At the event, Musk engaged in a conversation with Laurence Fink, the CEO of BlackRock and interim co-chair of the forum.

Musk playfully suggested that Trump’s Board of Peace should perhaps be called the “Board of Piece,” joking about acquiring “a little piece of Greenland, a little piece of Venezuela.” He expressed a desire to make things more intriguing and couldn’t resist taking a subtle jab at the US President.

Trump officially introduced his Board of Peace to oversee efforts in maintaining a ceasefire in Israel’s conflict with Hamas. Despite his enthusiasm and claims that many countries were eager to join, several US allies opted out of participation due to concerns about the board’s purpose and composition.

Britain, for instance, expressed reservations about potential Russian involvement in the plan, with the Foreign Secretary mentioning discussions with allies on potential roles in the Gaza peace process but refraining from immediate participation.

During the unveiling of the peace board, Trump tried to downplay the absence of some countries by highlighting the 59 nations that had signed onto the initiative. However, only 19 countries, including the US, were represented by heads of state and top diplomats at the event.

Musk, who previously supported Trump but later distanced himself, attended the Davos summit after previously mocking the elite gathering on social media. He has also been engaged in a public dispute with Ryanair’s CEO over the installation of Starlink systems on the airline’s planes.

The interaction between Musk and O’Leary escalated, with the Ryanair CEO dismissing Musk’s suggestion of purchasing the budget airline.
