Former President Donald Trump has responded to the recent release of new documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, claiming that the files vindicate him. The Department of Justice unveiled a fresh set of records connected to the deceased sex offender Epstein last Friday.
Among the millions of files, one contained unverified information on Trump gathered by the FBI in August of the previous year. The content suggested that a teenage girl, aged 13 or 14, alleged she was compelled to engage in oral sex with Trump over thirty years ago. The document detailed that the girl reportedly bit Trump during the act and was purportedly struck in the face after laughing about it. The file was initially taken down shortly after publication due to an overload but was later reinstated by the DoJ.
Upon the release of the documents, the DoJ cautioned that they included sensationalized and untrue assertions about the President. Trump addressed the matter himself, asserting that he has been exonerated by the latest disclosure. He indicated that reliable sources informed him that the files not only clear his name but also contradict the expectations of critics, particularly those on the extreme left.
Trump’s association with Epstein has been extensively reported, with the two having social ties. In a 2002 statement, Trump praised Epstein as a “great guy” who had a preference for women who were “on the younger side.” However, following Epstein’s death in 2019, Trump claimed that he had distanced himself from Epstein fifteen years prior, citing a falling out between them. Flight records included in the released files indicated Trump’s presence on several of Epstein’s private jet trips between 1993 and 1997.
It is crucial to note that being mentioned in the documents does not imply any misconduct. Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing in his connection to Epstein and has not faced any criminal allegations or been the subject of any investigations by law enforcement agencies.
Additionally, the DoJ statement clarified that some of the documents contained baseless and sensational claims against President Trump, submitted to the FBI just before the 2020 election. The DoJ emphasized that these claims lacked credibility and would have been exploited against Trump if they had any merit.
The files also revealed images involving Labour peer Peter Mandelson in a compromising scenario with a woman in a robe, along with a financial transaction between Mandelson and Epstein. Mandelson’s spokesperson stated that he has no recollection of receiving the mentioned sum from Epstein and regrets having interacted with him.
Another image from the files depicted Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in a questionable position, which Andrew vehemently denied, refuting any allegations of sexual misconduct. It is important to understand that mere inclusion or depiction in the Epstein files does not indicate any illegal behavior.
