Four fortunate Premium Bonds investors have each secured £100,000 prizes by acquiring their winning bonds exclusively in December. These specific bonds were only qualified for the draw starting from February 2026 onwards, requiring ownership for a full month to be eligible. Notably, one of the £100,000 winners purchased a £50 bond in December 2025.

Among the winners, individuals living in Essex and Brighton and Hove have emerged victorious, holding total Premium Bonds amounts of £19,150 and £38,025, respectively. The remaining two winners, each holding £50,000 in Premium Bonds, reside in Cheshire and Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

In addition, the February 2026 draw featured two £1 million Premium Bond prizes, with one recipient residing in Liverpool and the other in Central Bedfordshire. Premium Bonds, a savings product offered by National Savings & Investment (NS&I), operate on a monthly prize draw system instead of providing a fixed interest rate return on investments.

While the smallest monthly prize amounts to £25, there are two substantial £1 million prizes up for grabs each month. However, consistent monthly wins are not guaranteed, with a higher number of smaller prizes distributed compared to the larger sums. Typically, numerous £25 prizes are awarded, along with only two £1 million prizes. The maximum amount allowable to be saved in Premium Bonds is £50,000, with each pound invested corresponding to a unique bond number.

The odds of winning a prize each month per £1 bond stand at 22,000 to 1. Winners are notified via email or text message by NS&I, enabling them to choose between having the prize money transferred to their bank account or reinvesting it in Premium Bonds. To check for winnings, individuals can utilize the NS&I online prize checker tool or the Premium Bonds prize checker app.

Currently, the prize fund rate, akin to an interest rate for Premium Bonds, stands at 3.60%, maintaining this rate since the August 2025 draw. Recent data disclosed to This is Money revealed the most fortuitous locations for winning Premium Bond prizes, with Hampshire and the Isle of Wight residents securing a significant number of £100,000 prizes in 2025. Notably, Essex, Outer London, Norwich, and Cumbria also witnessed notable wins in the past year.
