Scheduled to debut in the World Seniors Snooker Championship, O’Sullivan will be staying in Yorkshire for the event starting on May 6, spanning five days. The World Seniors Snooker Tour has confirmed O’Sullivan’s participation, highlighting him as a key figure in the sport and a major draw for the event.
Joining O’Sullivan at the championship are other notable world champions such as Mark Williams, Stuart Bingham, and Ken Doherty. The event’s lineup also includes prominent players like Jimmy White, Matthew Stevens, and Tony Drago, among others.
Chairman Jason Francis expressed excitement about O’Sullivan’s entry into the tournament, emphasizing the increased ticket sales and anticipation surrounding the event due to the snooker legend’s participation. The rule change by the World Snooker Tour now allows professional players aged 45 or older ranked in the top 64 to compete in the seniors circuit.
